Who we are

regions.gg is the official site for Regions, a city-building game by Exit 5 Games. Questions about this policy: hello@regions.gg.

What we collect

Account identity. When you sign in with Discord, Steam, or Epic Games, we store the account id, username, and (for Discord and Steam) avatar that platform shares with us. We never see your password for any of those platforms — sign-in happens on their pages.

Optional email. You can add an email address to your profile. It's optional today and only needed for features that require contact, like mod uploads later on.

Things you submit. Feedback comments on roadmap cards, poll votes, and — if you request to join the playtest pool — the platform, hardware, and availability details you enter in that form.

Technical basics. A session cookie keeps you signed in. We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page statistics; it does not use cookies or track you across sites. Your browser's local storage remembers small preferences (like a poll option you picked before signing in, or your roadmap view mode) — that data stays on your device.

How we use it

To run your account and sessions; to show your username and avatar next to feedback you post; to count poll votes; to organize playtesting; to notify us when new feedback is posted; and to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. We don't sell your data, run ads, or use it for marketing without asking first.

What's public

Feedback you post on roadmap cards is public, shown with your username and avatar. Poll results are shown as anonymous totals — your individual vote is not displayed. Your email and playtest details are never public.

Services we rely on

Your data is processed by the infrastructure we run the site on: Vercel (site hosting and analytics), Railway (backend hosting), and Brevo (email delivery). Sign-in involves Discord, Valve (Steam), or Epic Games, under their own privacy policies. Dev diary videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode — YouTube only loads content if you play a video.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile — that permanently removes your profile, your comments, and your votes. You can also edit or delete individual comments, and change or remove your email, at any time. Residual copies in backups are purged on a rolling basis.

Your rights

Most privacy rights here are self-service: view what we have (it's on your profile), correct it, or delete it. For anything else — including access or deletion requests under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA — email hello@regions.gg and we'll sort it out.

Children

regions.gg is not intended for children under 13, and the sign-in providers we use require at least that age. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be mentioned on the devlog or Discord.
